Kara Raiding

Getting into Kara

Karazhan will be your first introduction into a ten man raiding environment in World of Warcraft. There are a lot of learning curves that can only be learned by being in Kara and learning the boss fights and the pulls. However there are some things that you'll need to bring to Kara on your own that you can obtain before you get in. Gear and spec are going to play a huge roll in how functional you can be inside Karazhan. With that said we'd like to lay down a couple of guidlines before you'll be able to enter Kara with a Bedlam Raid group. Kara will be separated into two halves. The first half being the easier half and the second half being the more difficult part.

1. Tanks

To be a Main Tank in the first half of Kara you will need to be Protection/Feral Tank specced and have at least 13k HP unbuffed.

To be an off tank in the first half of Kara you will need to be Protection/Feral Tank specced and have at least 12.5k HP unbuffed.

To be a Main Tank in the second half of Kara you will need to be Protection/Feral Tank specced and have at least 13.5k HP unbuffed.

To be an off tank in the second half of Kara you will need to be Protection/Feral Tank specced and have at least 13k HP unbuffed.

2. Healers

To be a Main Tank Healer in the first half of Kara you will need to be Holy/Resto specced and have at least +1350 to healing.

To be the Off Tank Healer in the first half of Kara you will need to be Holy/Resto specced and have at least +1250 to healing.

To be the Group Heals for the first half of Kara you will need to be Holy/Resto specced and have at least +1100 to healing.

To be a Main Tank Healer in the second half of Kara you will need to be Holy/Resto specced and have at least +1550 to healing.

To be the Off Tank Healer in the second half of Kara you will need to be Holy/Resto specced and have at least +1450 to healing.

To be the Group Heals in the second half of Kara you will need to Holy/Resto specced and have at least +1250 to healing.

3. DPS Casters

To participate in Kara as a DPS Caster you'll need to have at minimum +500 spell damage to start raiding Kara. You can significantly increase that number from a few drops off of the first few bosses.

There are many many instances available to you before you enter Kara. You should be able to outfit your character in all blue items excluding your trinkets before you enter Karazhan. if you follow that rule you should surpass the required spell damage number before you enter Kara.

4. DPS Melee

Melee DPS should ideally have around a 20% crit chance and about a +30 to +40 Hit rating. Attack power would ideally be around 1000 or so. These number are debatable and I'm making these suggestions bases on that of a rogue. Which should be sufficient as most of the time Melee dps is only rogues and Hunters.

5. Needed Odds & Ends

Every person wanting to enter Kara should have already run the lvl 70 instance in outland and gotten themselves at minimum all blue gear. There will be a few token pieces that can still be green like a belt or the such but overall your main pieces should already be blue.

Also if you're continually running instances you should be able to attempt them on heroic and get yourself a few key pieces of epicness before you really get deep into Kara.

Have Vent, CTraid, Omen, Deadly Boss Mod installed and working.
